The Virgin Islands Office of Cannabis Regulations (OCR) announces that “The Registry” is now open and available on the OCR website (ocr.vi.gov). Hosted by Tyler Technologies’ Complia software, “The Registry” will support the licensing and registration of Practitioners, Sacramental Organizations, Medicinal Patients, Sacramental Users, and Cannabis Business Agents.

This online portal will ensure that the Office of Cannabis Regulations will meet the regulatory guidelines of the program and ensure timely responses to submitted applications. “The Registry” is now open for Practitioner’s and Sacramental Organization’s registrations only. Requirements for submissions are available for Practitioners at ocr.vi.gov/practitioner-information and Sacramental Organizations at ocr.vi.gov/sacramental-organizations.

Future openings of “The Registry” are scheduled for Patients and Sacramental Users of Cannabis in April, and Cannabis Business Agents in June/July. The opening of “The Registry” satisfies statutory requirements to begin Cannabis programming within one year of enactment of Act 8680, the Virgin Islands Cannabis Use Act. More information about the rollout of Cannabis programming will be released as it becomes available.

In addition to “The Registry,” the OCR announces the introduction of its new four-part “Fireside Chat” Series, which aims to incorporate key stakeholders in conversations around the Cannabis industry. These informal conversations endeavor to increase stakeholder involvement at the Regulatory level and incorporate dialogue and feedback at various points in the roll out of the program.

The sessions, virtual Zoom meetings, are scheduled as followed: Practitioners, January 25, 2024; Sacramental Organizations, February 01, 2024; Medicinal Patients, February 15, 2024; and Sacramental Users of Cannabis, February 29, 2024. Registration for the meeting is not required and can be joined at 6:00 PM AST at the following link: bit.ly/OCR-Fireside (Please note this link is case sensitive.)

Future “Fireside Chats” will incorporate more stakeholders from various groups. At these sessions, we ask that individuals respect the safe space of the stakeholder groups and engage at the session most appropriate for their identity.

Persons with questions may contact the OCR via email at info.ocr@ocr.vi.gov.
